Ning Ying is a filmmaker who directed the Beijing Trilogy (For Fun) (1993), On the Beat (1995), I Love Beijing (2001), a series of films that explore and analysis the massive changes that China's national capital has undergone in the recent decades.

In this interview Ning Ying discusses her films, her career and her use of urban spaces and architecture to explore cultural identity and cultural memory.
