“The City: A Festival of Knowledge”
From May 27 to June 3, 2006, York University will be host to The Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences, the largest annual academic gathering in Canada. This year’s theme is “The City.” The Visible City Project will be an active participant in the event through presentations by our researchers and a website launch on May 30.
Visible City Project + Archive Website Launch
The Visible City Project will launch its re-designed website and online research archive as part of the Film Studies Association of Canada’s Book Launch + Reception event at Congress. Professor Janine Marchessault, Director of the project, as well as a number of researchers will be available for questions and discussion.

York University Research Gallery
During Congress the Visible City Project will be featured in the York University Research Gallery, a showcase of social sciences and humanities research at York reflective of the theme of the city. Every afternoon from 4:00 to 5:00 pm, there will be a number of short presentations on different research projects in the Gallery.
Professor Janine Marchessault, Director of the Visible City Project, will give a presentation and will be available thereafter for questions and discussion:
